Meet gorgeous high school senior, Lauren! She's actually from out of state but she loves Maine's beaches and wanted her photo shoot by the sea. It was. bit overcast for her session but she rolled with it and I'm quite pleased with the result!
Lauren was so easy to photograph for her senior portraits on Wells Beach. She had an easy smile and willing personality- she didn't flinch when I instructed her through some rather silly exercises!
Often I hear from my seniors that they don't want anything overly posed. They want natural and candid. I totally get it! It's the trend we're seeing throughout photography. I think social media has made us skeptical of what's real and what's not and we're pushing back now, looking for authenticity.
I still try to get traditional images for my clients but we spend some time creating natural moments through movement and expression. I'm sure when mom looks at these images she loves the posed ones but it's the laughing, smiling, hair blowing images that will stay with her because this is how she sees her daughter every day.
